Minister Anmol Gagan Mann kicks off widening project of Majholi- Chandigarh road via Siswan to connect Punjab- Himachal

Mohali : Scripting a new history in the development of the New Chandigarh area by developing a new connecting link by road, Punjab Minister for Tourism & Cultural Affairs, Investment Promotion, Hospitality and Labour, Anmol Gagan Mann kicked off the construction of Majholi- Chandigarh road via Siswa at Village Abhipur, today.
She said that with the completion of the widening and renovation project of Majholi-Jheera-Lakhanpur via Majrighat up to Majra T-Point Kurali Siswan via Haripur-Mianpur Changar-Abhipur-Pallanpur road, Punjab to get a new road to Himachal Pradesh that further boost the economic activities between both the states.
Terming the importance of the project that has a total of 21.50 KM road stretch and it would come up for Rs 27 crore, the Minister said that the road touches the Himachal part having many industrial units on this root of Lakhanpur, Jhiran and Majholi.
Reiterating the commitment of the Bhagwant Mann Government, she said that the State Government is committed to the holistic development of Punjab despite creating hurdles in the smooth flow of funds to the state by central government.
She further said that from a transportation point of view or visiting Himachal’s less chaotic areas, the upcoming road stretch will be more beneficial.
This will further boost the trade activities in the region.
SDM Kharar Gurmandar Singh, Executive Engineer Shivpreet Singh from PWD and villagers were among the persons present there.
