A typist who took a bribe of Rs 10,000 for land registration was arrested

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested Deepak Kumar, a typist working at the District Court Complex Bathinda, on charges of accepting and demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000 on behalf of the employees of the Revenue Department during the anti-corruption drive in the state.
Giving information in this regard, the spokesperson of the State Vigilance Bureau said that this case against the accused typist residing at Basant Vihar Nagar, Bathinda was filed by Gursahij Singh, a resident of Burj Kahan Singh Wala of Bathinda district, who is now living at Goniana Mandi.
He further stated that the complainant has alleged in his complaint that the said typist demanded Rs 20000 as a bribe to pay money to the concerned numberedar as well as the reader and clerk of the sub-registrar in lieu of getting the land registered in the sub-registrar’s office Bathinda. He alleged that on his repeated request, the said accused agreed to take a bribe of 10 thousand rupees. The complainant recorded the conversation between the typist and him and submitted it to the Vigilance Bureau as evidence.
He further said that during the investigation of this complaint, the allegations made in the complaint were found to be true. In this regard, a case has been registered against the accused typist at Vigilance Bureau Police Station Bathinda Range and the role of others will be investigated during further investigation.
