As compared to previous years, stubble burning cases reduced by 75%

After the strict instructions given by the Punjab government to the officers, the officials are continuously visiting the mandis and the farmers have been asked to establish contact to solve the problems regarding the upcoming paddy collection. Today, two grain markets of Bathinda district, Nathana and Bhucho Mandi, were visited by the MD of Pansap Madam Sonali Giri and the Deputy Commissioner Bathinda after the complaints received by the farmers. Assured to resolve them immediately.

MD Sonali Giri and Deputy Commissioner Shaukat Ahmed Pare told that Punjab government has strict instructions that no farmer should be allowed to face any problem in the market.That’s why we are making a round trip to those markets as soon as the farmers are facing any problem and the problems are being solved on the spot. Because in Punjab till now 50% of the paddy has been harvested within the last three to four days and the farmers should not face any problem and the fodder of paddy will be harvested soon.

Within the coming 10 days, the mandis will be vacated. He appealed that the farmers should bring their dry paddy to the mandis so that the problem of space does not arise. DC Bathinda said that our team is continuously visiting all the markets, 7 lakh metric tons of paddy has arrived in Bathinda district so far.

He said that about 500 cellar owners are picking up paddy. He said that till last year there were about 800 cases of stubble burning which reduced to 200 which reduced by 75%. SSP Amaneet Kaudal said that So far how many cases have been registered against the farmers who set the stubble on fire.
