Shoe thrown at Punjabi singer Karan Aujla during London concert
London, 7 September
Popular Punjabi singer Karan Aujla, currently on his UK tour, faced an unexpected disruption during his London concert when someone from audience hurled a shoe at him. The incident occurred while Aujla was performing on stage, with the shoe striking him in the face. The singer, visibly angered, responded by challenging the individual responsible, using strong language and calling them out from the stage.
Karan Aujla addressed the audience, saying, “Who was it? I’m asking you to come up on stage. Let’s handle this one-on-one. Why did you do this? Show some respect.” He later urged young fans not to engage in such disrespectful behaviour, calling for respect toward artists.
Karan Aujla, known for his popular track “Tauba Tauba,” is currently on a world tour. Following performances in London and Birmingham, he is set to perform in Brazil, Australia, and New Zealand in the coming weeks. The singer also has two shows lined up in Delhi later this year, marking his return to India.
Aujla, born Jaskaran Singh Aujla, lost his parents at a young age. His entry into the music industry was facilitated by Punjabi singer Jassie Gill, for whom Aujla wrote a song that became a major hit. This success paved the way for his own musical career.
Aujla was also involved in a well-publicised rivalry with the late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. The two exchanged diss tracks, sparking controversy. However, Aujla later clarified that they had resolved their differences over the phone before Moosewala’s untimely death, and there was no lingering animosity between them.
