The custom department has seized foreign cigarettes worth more than 25 lakh rupees from four or six passengers from Cambodia at the local airport. These passengers had arrived here from Cambodia via Kuala Lumpur since last night.
The official said that 37,400 cigarettes worth Rs 6 lakh 35 thousand were recovered from Ravi Kumar and more than 38 thousand cigarettes worth Rs 6 lakh 52 thousand from Puruthi Anuj were recovered.
More than 37 thousand cigarettes worth 6 lakh 35 thousand rupees were recovered from Ravi Kumar’s belongings. And more than 37,000 cigarettes worth Rs 6 lakh 39,000 were recovered from Robin Arora. All the foreign cigarettes are of one brand.
