Two drug smugglers arrested with 1.2 kg of opium

Jalandhar rural police has arrested two drug smugglers and recovered 1.2 kg of opium from them during a special operation to curb drug trafficking in the area. According to information, these drugs were allegedly bought from Jharkhand.
The arrested persons have been identified as Roshan Lal son of Darshan Lal resident of B-2/185 Dilbagh Colony, Guraya and Narinder Singh son of Karnail Singh resident of Mohalla Guru Nanakpura, Guraya.
Talking to the reporters in this regard, DSP SS Bal said that the team under the leadership of SHO Inspector Palwinder Singh of Guraya conducted patrolling and checking operations. The police team stopped the duo on a scooter near Puli Nehar Kamalpur and after searching the suspects, the police recovered 1.2 kg of opium hidden in two separate packets of 600 grams each.
According to information, Roshan Lal ordered opium from Jharkhand and Narinder Singh worked as a courier. Officials said that the arrested accused will be produced in the local court and their police remand will be sought so that they can be interrogated further.
